Captain Responsibility

Signed, completed score sheets with Match Money must be dropped in the league box at Pine Street at the completion of your match. Match Money (Both Teams)  includes the $10.00 for weekly fees, $20.00 seasonal deposit as well as $10.00 annual BCA sanctioning fee for players added to their rosters during the season. Captains are responsible for score sheet accuracy.

Weekly Matches

Weekly matches begin at 6:00 pm and 7:30pm at the Pine Street Bar. (8 or less teams will have one static 7pm start time.)

Captains verify the match handicap and start the match as close to start time as possible.

Opening break determined by coin flip.  Teams alternate breaks throughout play. The BCA uses a RACK-YOUR-OWN rule, so the player with the Break, racks, and pays the coin.

Sinking the 8ball on the break does not win or lose a game.  If the bar owner/manager is available to open the table, please ask them to do so.  If no one or key is available to retrieve the ball, the Breaker will pay to retrieve the 8ball from the table. Follow BCA rules for correct protocol.

The original Breaker is ultimately responsible for dropping additional coin even if circumstance within the BCA rules dictate forfeiture of the break.

Scoring

Please circle wins on the provided scoresheets and circle the winning team after the match.  Both Captains need to sign the scoresheet.

Handicaps

First 2 weeks of league play will be races to 5, with no handicap.  First team to win five games, wins the match point.  Week 3, the team rating and matchup will determine the handicap and length of the match.

Sandbagging

Intentionally minimizing your wins or purposely losing games to manipulate your average is greatly discouraged..  Please put forth your best effort each and every game.

Forfeits

League start time is 6pm and 7:30.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time.  For those who cannot follow the preceding, please memorize the law on a forfeit.

The league director does not want and will not declare any forfeits.  The opposing captain has the right to call a forfeit under the following conditions,

1.       If no team members arrive within a half an hour of the designated start time, a match forfeit may be called.

If one player is running late, a team can wait for the missing player for 30 minutes from the start time.  At that time, game forfeits may be called every 5 minutes.  A team may also proceed with an alternate.  Once an alternate shoots their first shot, the alternate will play the entire match.   There are no substitutions allowed during a match.

Team Communication

No Time Outs allowed during your match.  Teams will be considered either; “At the table” or “In the chair” during the match. While “In the Chair” teammates may discuss strategy, while “At the table”, teammates may not communicate with each other.  A team is considered “At the table” when the balls stop moving after their opponent’s inning ends.

Questionable Hits

If you have any question to the legality of your opponent’s potential shot, you need to ask a player from another match to watch the hit, prior to the shot taking place.  If you do not inform your opponent that you would like someone to watch the hit, the validity of the shot is the opinion of the shooter.

Conflicts

If for any reason a disagreement occurs in your game please use the following protocol; First discuss the issue with your opponent.  Know the rules, and find the solution from the rules.

Conflicts that escalate from disagreements to physical altercations are subject to expulsion from the league. Players expelled from the league as well as those who quit the league forfeit any benefits or prize money.  Future participation is subject to review by the league committee.

Players are responsible for their own conduct.  Players 86’d from any establishment will be expelled from the league.  Players expelled from the league forfeit any benefits or prize money.
